Rally to West Wales this summer for the Rali Ceredigion
The Welsh countryside accelerates towards a global podium this summer – and you can be there to see it.

For the first time in over 30 years, the European Rally Championship (ERC) returns to Wales. It is speeding into being one of the most exciting events of the year – with 150 cars competing in the 120-mile course covering the Welsh county of Ceredigion. The brand-new route is set on asphalt and spans over three exciting days from 30 August to 1 September. Nestled in the Cothi Valley, Tŷ Mawr Country Hotel is the perfect place to stay away from the hustle and bustle of the event but close enough to spend three energised days out there.
The ERC is an annual rally that is organised by the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA), and has taken place for over 70 years. The ERC has been hosted by over a dozen countries with the host this year being the motorsport event Rali Ceredigion, which has been running rallies since 2019 around Aberystwyth.

Welsh driving star Osian Pryce is a two-time winner of the Rali Ceredigion and with this year’s seventh round being a course on home soil (or in this case, asphalt), he may be looking to perform in the upcoming rally once again on a more European scale.
As well as receiving the Motorsport UK’s Environmental Sustainability Award last year, the Rali Ceredigion was also the first UK rally to achieve the FIA Environmental Accreditation, both of which go to show a great drive towards a greener future. Last year alone, the event offset 120 tonnes of CO2 and with a thriving ecosystem here in Wales, the Rali Ceredigion aims to leave a legacy to be remembered. One way they are aiming to leave a mark is through contributions to the community by giving to local groups and organisations – in which they donated £5000 at last year’s event.
In order to stream the event live, ‘Rally TV’ is broadcasting all the European rounds via the ERC website. The Welsh channel S4C will be broadcasting the UK’s round of the Rali Ceredigion for those in the UK. Better yet, those who want to get up close to the action can watch from the side-lines in Aberystwyth. The Tŷ Mawr Country Hotel is the perfect pit stop to return to after a full day of adrenaline filled races to put your feet up and reflect on the day gone by. Here, you can fuel up on great food and enjoy some relaxation to prepare you for the exhilarating races to come. Step on the gas and book ahead here to avoid disappointment!
