PARKING

There are no roads to cross between the car park and the hotel.

There are parking spaces close to the hotels front door.

The car park is reasonably level and covered in coarse cut gravel.

At night the car park is well lit.

MAIN ENTRANCE

The main door opens towards you and when open the access width is 80cms.

There is a very small step up as you go through this door.

There is a 90-degree sharp left turn to another door from the entrance hall to the reception which is 70cm wide.

Both doorways are manual and are made from wood and glass.

RECEPTION

It is approximately 2 metres from the entrance hall to the reception desk.

There is level access to the reception from the entrance. The reception area is well lit and the desk is 1 metre 10 centimetres in height.

Seating is available in reception and all furniture is moveable.

It is possible to fill in forms at the reception at a low-level table and chair.

Forms can be supplied in large print or read to the guest. The reception area is also the bar.

SITTING ROOM

All doors mentioned from now on are made of wood, are manual, have lever-type handles and are normally kept shut.

There is level access from the reception, through 3 doors (2 of width 79cms and one of 81cms) to the sitting room.

All floors are tiled and not slippery. There is a rug on the floor in the sitting room which is not fixed.

The armchairs and sofas in the sitting room are low-level and all furniture is moveable.

The area is reasonably well lit.

BREAKFAST ROOM

The breakfast room leads off the sitting room and has a level tiled floor.

It is well lit.

Clearance under tables is 64cms and the tables and chairs are moveable.

RESTAURANT

There are 6 steps from the breakfast room to the restaurant.

Each step is 10cms in height, 46cms deep and the edge of each step is highlighted in white.

There is a handrail on the right side of the steps. Clearance under tables is 64cms and tables and chairs are moveable.

The restaurant is reasonably well lit.

Full table service is provided for both food and drinks.

It is possible to provide a menu in large print or to have the menu read to the guest.

The restaurant can cater for dietary and ethnic preferences by prior arrangement.

The volume of the background music can be adjusted.

FIRST FLOOR BEDROOMS

There are 6 bedrooms in total, 4 of which are on the first floor.

The access to these rooms is by a staircase with half landing and 14 steps – height 18cms and depth 33cms.

There is a handrail on the left side of the stairway as you go up and it is well-lit.

The stairs, landing and bedrooms are all carpeted and the furniture in the bedrooms is moveable.

The door to Bedroom 1 is directly at the top of the staircase and is 71cms in width.

There is one step 13cms down through the door in to the bedroom and one step 20cms up from the bedroom in to the ensuite bathroom.

Bedrooms 2 to 4 are through a double doorway of 1 metre 14cms in width. Bedrooms 2, 3 and 4 are en suite.

The corridor on which Bedrooms 2 to 4 are situated has four steps between Bedrooms 3 and 4. Three steps are of 20cms height and 41cms depth and one step is 18cms high.

The corridor is reasonably well lit but a torch is available on request.

The width of doors in to all the bedrooms is 71cms and all are locked with keys.

The beds are 61cms high in all rooms except Bedroom 1 where the bed is 64cms high.

BATHROOMS

The doors from bedrooms to bathrooms are 74cms in width. All bathrooms have baths with showers over. The shower controls are at 142cms. The sides of the baths are 69cms in height and do not have handles to help in getting out. Non-slip mats can be provided for use in the baths. Basins are of 86cms in height, loos are 46cms in height and mirrors are 1metre 37cms in height. The taps on the bath and basin are turned on by turning.

There is no adapted loo.

The walls are mainly cream in colour, bathroom suites are white and the floors are carpeted.

GROUND FLOOR BEDROOMS

Room 5

Accessed off the lobby by the main entrance, the door is 81cms wide with a handle and lock at 127cms high.

The bed is 66cms high and is a super king-size bed which can be split to make a twin bedroom with two 3-foot beds.

The plugs are at 51 cms high and the light switches at 145cms high. The floor is carpeted and the furniture moveable.

The en suite bathroom is also carpeted and accessed through a door which is 73cms wide.

In the bathroom the mirror is 158cms high, the basin 76cms high and the loo 40cms high.

The bath is 50cms high and there is no handle to aid you getting in and out.

There is a separate shower accessed by a step of 22cms. It is 66 cms x 66 cms and the shower controls are at 140cms high.

The taps on the bath and basin are turned on by turning.

There is no adapted loo.

Room 6

Accessed through its own private door from outside via the car park and patio. The front door is 111cms wide with a lock at a height of 109cms and then there is a 90-degree turn to an inner door which is 84 cms wide. The bed is 68cms high and is a super king-size which can be split to make a twin bedroom with two 3 foot beds.

The plugs are at 50 cms high and the light switches at 108cms high. The floor is carpeted and the furniture moveable.

The en suite bathroom is also carpeted and accessed through a door which is 83cms wide with a handle at 122cms height.

In the bathroom the mirror is 155cms high, the basin 80cms high and the loo 44cms high.

The bath is 56cms high and there is no handle to aid you getting in and out. The bath has a shower over with controls at 105cms high.

The taps on the bath and basin are turned on by turning. There is no adapted loo.

GENTS LOO

The gents loo is on the first floor at the top of the stairs. It is accessed through a door which is 76cms wide and up a step which is 14cms high. The floor is tiled, the light switch is at 130cms high and the lock on the door at 108cm height. In the loo the mirror is 145cms high, the basin 79cms high and the loo 46cms high. The taps on the basin are turned on by turning.

There is no adapted loo.

LADIES LOO

The ladies loo is on the first floor along the corridor between bedrooms 3 and 4. It is accessed through a door which is 75cms wide and up a step which is 10cms high. The floor is tiled, the light switch is at 155cms high and the lock on the door at 110cm height. I n the loo the mirror is 155cms high, the basin 86cms high and the loo 43cms high. There is also a bath which is 67cms high. The taps on the basin and bath are turned on by turning.

There is no adapted loo.

FIRE ESCAPE

The fire escape for the first floor is situated through the laundry room.

The door out to the fire escape is 36cms in width and there is a ridge of 11cms at the door.

The fire escape has 9 steps which are 24cms high & 23cms deep.

There is a handrail on the right-hand side as you go downstairs.

Access to the fire escape for Bedroom 1 is from the bathroom, through a door 73cms in width and through the laundry room.

Access to the fire escape for Bedrooms 2 and 3 is along the corridor and up three steps of 20cms height and 41cms depth.

Access to the fire escape for Bedrooms 4 and 5 is along the corridor and down one step 18cms high.

Access to the laundry room is down 2 steps (20cms high and 36cms deep) through the laundry room door – width 69cms.

The furthest distance from any room to the fire escape is 7 metres 40cms.

GARDEN

The garden, of one acre, is mainly laid to lawn and flower beds with a river running through the bottom of it.

There is a patio running the full front of the building which can be accessed through a door in the restaurant (79cms wide) and one in the breakfast room (92cms wide).

The patio is made of flagstones and is slightly uneven in places.

There are tables and chairs here in the summer months and the tables have 63cms clearance.

In the middle of the patio, there are five steps which are 11cms in height and 1 metre 22cms deep.

There is no handrail.

The edge of the steps is highlighted in white.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Smoking is not permitted in the hotel but ashtrays are provided on the patio at the front of the building.

Mobile phone coverage is limited with only Vodafone working in the hotel.

A phone for public use is available at reception.

Registered assistance dogs are welcome in all areas of the hotel and can be exercised in the garden but it is not fenced in.

David and Gill live in the hotel and are available to assist wherever possible.
