Food Cooked with Care
Our cooking is professional, seasonal, and rooted in Welsh produce. We keep things unfussy, letting good ingredients speak for themselves, while taking the time and care they deserve.
Menus change with the seasons and remain deliberately small. The aim is balance rather than show — thoughtful cooking that feels generous and well judged, without unnecessary complication.
This is food meant to be enjoyed at the table, not explained.
Dinner, Sunday Lunch & Breakfast
Evenings at Ty Mawr are quietly special. The pace is unhurried, the mood easy, and the menu designed to suit both a relaxed supper and a more considered meal.
Sunday lunch is something we care deeply about — well-sourced Welsh meat, seasonal vegetables, and proper gravy, served in a way that encourages you to stay a little longer than planned.
Breakfasts are equally considered, from freshly baked goods to cooked options that feel grounding and generous rather than elaborate.
A Place to Gather
Ty Mawr works because it feels natural. Tables are close enough for conversation, far enough apart for privacy. The atmosphere is warm rather than formal, making it an easy place to celebrate quietly or simply enjoy being together.
It’s a restaurant for people who value good food, thoughtful hospitality, and the luxury of time.
In the Countryside, Near Carmarthen
We’re located just outside Carmarthen, surrounded by countryside and close to Brechfa Forest — easy to reach, but far enough away to feel like a pause from the everyday.
Many guests join us while staying nearby or as part of a longer visit to the area, while others come simply because it’s a place they enjoy returning to.
A Relaxed Welcome
We aim to make everyone feel comfortable from the moment they arrive. Dogs are welcome to join you while you dine, both indoors and outdoors, but the focus remains firmly on good food, good company, and a calm, welcoming space.
We recommend booking, particularly for Sunday lunch and evenings, to keep the atmosphere as relaxed and unhurried as possible.
